Keira Macros has written a long series also unfinished which starts with them as teenagers called Tangled Destinies http://keiramarcos.com/star-trek/tangled-destinies-ks/ It does have an evil T'Pring and no Tarsus, however to make up for that it does have Kirk meeting and baffling Vulcans and Kirk and Spock bonding. This series may not be your cup of tea, however if you like your pairing to fall madly in love and become powerful and rich and gather huge families around themselves, which I must admit I have a huge weakness for, then this and any of the series on her site are for you.
