hmmm for TOS fics, I remember finding stuff by islaofhope -- Kirk and Spock raised a kid that was a result of Spock having an affair with somebody -- Kirk ended up adopting the kid.

I can't remember which story has the kid, but her stories are in the trekiverse archive:
