I have notice lots of fics get a lower reviews for lack of sex but the important is the story. Random forced sex can detract from a great story if it just there as a token scene. Every part do the story must have some thing emotional point/something at stake/something driving/some consequence because otherwise it wastes of screen time. Not that is not to say sexual scenes have no place or value, but they need to be employed in meaningful ways. Sometimes a simple kiss or holding can be far more meaningful/intament/powerful/more rewarding than tons of graphic sex scenes.

For example "as wise we grow" handled it so utterly perfectly. There is a reason it is a hallmark of this fandom.
