destruction of vulcan

So I read a fic a looong time ago about the aftermath of the destruction of vulcan. After the Enterprise got out of range of the blackhole their ship had suffered huge damages. So they are stuck in space and Jim is stuck as Captain. Pike is unconscious (or something) and idk about Spock. I remember that Spock is impressed with how he deals with crew morale and the pressure from Starfleet about how he's unfit. And Spock also had doubts that he could do the mundane Captain ship stuff as well as the dangerous stuff. Any help - please
