Driving me crazy - Two missing fics

I cannot remember the titles (or authors) of two stories, the plots of which simply won't leave me alone.  One of them is a story I sought out quite some time ago, got the title, and have since lost the link so here I am, try, trying again.

First story:  Kirk and some of the crew are trapped on a planet and Kirk has to fight - gladiator style - to save them all.

Second story:  Kirk's got a thing for Uhura but she's going through a brutal breakup with Spock, has revenge sex with Kirk (I think) but eventually they end up together - after an accident in which Spock is injured she realizes her true feelings lie with Kirk (and they have a tender, funny moment where he tells her that there's a whole world with just the two of them, something like "Sheetalus" and there are only a few words in the language of that world.

Anyone?   I'd sure appreciate it so I could stop trying to remember!  Thanks much.

Thanks. All good stories - unfortunately still not the one I'm looking for with regards to ending in K/U.

My most vivid recollection of the story is the ending. Spock and Uhura have ended their relationship. Kirk and Spock are involved in some kind of incident and Spock winds up in sickbay. Uhura and Kirk leave sickbay. Kirk is wrapped up in a blanket and on the lift to his quarters and Uhura catches up with him. They embrace and go back to his quarters and they get into this thing where Kirk imagines this whole world where there are just the two of them. They're hiding under the sheets and he calls the word "sheetalus" (or something like that) and discusses how the language of that world is very brief and consists of only a few words - all of which have something to do with her and his love for her.

Anyhoo, maybe I'll post this query to a K/U list and see if someone there has the answer... Thanks for your help and the story recs.

Got the names of the story(ies) elsewhere. Apparently they are "Once More Into the Breech" and the follow-up "Logic Will Break Your Heart", both by 1297 who, apparently, has taken down/purged his/her journal and the stories therein.

And that breaks my heart. Bummer. I know I'm tilting at windmills but if anyone knows how I can access these stories and can provide info, I'd greatly appreciate it.

In all cases, thanks for your help. At least now I know the titles and authors and can stop fruitlessly searching for them.
