Need McCoy Fic Recs! Please and Thank you.

I saw this message below on Tumblr and am dieing for good McCoy Fics.

I want really some stories with really smart!competent! inventive! McCoy.
Nu! Movies, Academy, or TOS is fine. Slow builds for relationship and relationships that naturally develop. The longer the better, the plot-ier the better. (Switch would be a good example.)

i think people forget that leonard mccoy is a genius too??

like yeah they’re always talking about the genius and incredible intelligence of kirk and spock but bones is up there with them

first of all he’s the cmo of starfleet’s flagship like he has more authority than the fucking captain so you know he’s a hella good doctor

he is a master surgeon and is an expert in biology, psychology, xenobiology, and god knows what else, not to mention he’s spock’s doctor–spock who is the literal first of his species, Spock whose whole being is entirely unique–meaning that bones is making shit up while he goes when taking care of spock

not to mention how inventive he is?? remember when they were sent to that faux old west place to act out the OK corral and he made a fucking tranquilizer out of some snake venom and other shit and put it in a sort of bomb thing?? like that isn’t crazy resourceful and ingenious?

mccoy is a fucking genius he has so much knowledge up in that head of his idk how he sorts through it all.

Caera1996 (http://archiveofourown.org/users/Caera1996/pseuds/Caera1996) writes primarily Bones/Jim fics, the most notable of her many works is The Basics of Primary Ed 'verse (http://archiveofourown.org/series/45901), which is actually AU, but I do love the way she writes McCoy.
If that doesn't appeal, she has a lot of other reboot 'verse work on her AO3 site, and also some on her LiveJournal (http://caera1996.livejournal.com) site that aren't on AO3.
Dream Deferred (http://ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=5494&warning=1) by TDazz is another favorite - it seems to begin as Kirk/Spock, but stick with it - it has more of a McCoy focus than is initially evident.

Thanks for the recs. I have not heard of Caera1996 but will give the work a try. AUs are an interesting.

I know TDazz (who is awesome) but never read Dream Deferred. I will give it a try.

TOS epic gen so it isn't slash but there is triumvirate friendship, centring on McCoy with lots of doctor/science scenes.

*rubs hands gleefully* All of them are Jim/Bones.

Okay, here are some that I could come up with:

Field Medicine (http://community.livejournal.com/st_xi_kink/7030.html?thread=17802358#t17802358). Bones has to perform an emergency appendectomy on Jim during a mission. I don't have the author's name. It was anonymous at the time. You'll have to scroll down to get to the comment fic.

Until We Meet Again (http://claudia-nic.livejournal.com/8693.html) by claudia_nic. After sneaking Jim onto the Enterprise in the first movie, Bones is reassigned to another ship. Awesome!Bones happens more towards the end of the multi-chapter story.

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Stronger by laughter_now. Bones is temporarily assigned to a space station where he has to thwart a Klingon attack as well as keep a deadly virus from spreading.

No Dead End in Sight (http://northatlantic.livejournal.com/635266.html?mode=reply) by northatlantic. Great backstory on how Bones is a prodigy.
