Plato's Stepchildren inspired Kirk/Spock

Hello all!

I've recently discovered the awesome-ness that is Star Trek and have been slowly but surely making my way through the original series.  I have watched a lot of great episodes but one that really struck me was Plato's Stepchildren.

OMG! Such a dark theme and, in my mind, soooo much fanfic potential XD

So I was wondering if there are any great fics out there inspired by this episode?

I'm a slasher and my all-time fave pairing is the lovely and ever logical Kirk/Spock.  So if anyone could recommend me a good read I'd be forever in your debt!! :)

Crew plays Never Have I Ever

I'm looking for a recent fic I stupidly forgot to bookmark in which the Enterprise crew are playing Never Have I Ever (and involved one round that led to everyone confessing the hots for Chekov). I believe it was a WIP, and I was hoping there have been new parts posted somewhere too.

"Dagger of the Mind"-inspired fics?

Bear with me, I think this is gonna be a long request.  So, I rewatched the TOS episode "Dagger of the Mind" today, and it raised a few questions for me that I'd like to see explored in fic...

1) --Kirk's attitude towards prisons.--  I've always felt that the attitude he expressed in this episode was not accurate for him.  First of all, he's the captain, so it's his job to be skeptical of things that seem too good to be true and to always be wary and not naive - and I thought he was the exact opposite of all that in that episode, so it just felt *wrong.*  Second of all, I also feel that with his previous experiences on Tarsus IV, Kirk would be especially wary of anything with the possibility for oppression and abuse of power and limitation of freedom, and prison is a prime example of just that situation.
So, essentially, I'd like to read any fics that explore Kirk and prison in any way, at any point in his life.  He can just be thinking about prison, he can actually be in prison - either pre-show or during.  It can be directly related to this episode.  Whatever you come up with that you think is appropriate.

2) --Kirk's tolerance of pain.--  In this episode, Dr. Adams specifically commented on Kirk's high pain threshold.  I'd like to read anything that explores/explains this, directly related to the episode or not.

For the above topics, I'll take anything about either TOS or XI Kirk.  And if you can't come up with anything related to those two topics in particular - or even if you can - I'd be happy to read anything remotely related to the episode itself.  Gen or slash and any rating welcome.
