Getting to know you... TOS Kirk/Spock, first meetings

So, I was going to post this as a prompt, but I'd figure I'd check here first. I want to read stories where TOS Kirk and Spock meet for the first time (Academy or on the Enterprise for the first five-year) and Kirk struggles to make a good impression on his Vulcan first officer. My thoughts are, in the AOS-verse, Spock and Kirk don't get along right away and have to struggle to find their footing; I'd like to read something similar in TOS-verse.
So, anything like Cadet Kirk v. Spock over the Kobayashi Maru, or Kirk as a the new captain trying to reach out and/or connect with his science/ first officer. Kirk is making an effort but Spock's a hard nut to crack (and so on, so on)

K/S Seperated?

There is a story where Starfleet discovers Kirk and Spock's relationship and Spock is forced to leave the ship and gets re-assigned on another ship which I think was Vulcan-only. I believe Kirk is injured and Spock goes to see him. There was also an outsider POV by a female Vulcan character.

Does anyone remember this K/S fic? It's an old fic but to my frustration I can't remember who wrote it or where to find it^^
