De-lurking in the hope of stopping myself chasing round the internet any longer.

I'm looking for a Reboot!fic, where Kirk and Spock are bonded but hiding it from the crew. Why, I can't remember. What I do remember is that Spock warns Kirk that there are some villagers coming at them with torches and pitchforks on a First Contact and they have to pretend they've got some shiny new earpieces to explain how Kirk knew to beam out.

Apparently, this is not enough for google, but it might be enough to jog someone's memory. Please?

Hey all,

I hope someone can help me with this...

I'm after fics - either gen or Bones/Kirk (spock/kirk in a pinch) in which Jim is on the receiving end of someones anger/disappointment etc--- but not for the reason he thinks.
Eg-- Jim is hurt trying to save a red-shirt, who dies anyway (surprise, surprise), Bones is pissed that he risked his life, but jim thinks its because he couldn't save the redshirt...
