looking for XI fic involving sehlats, might be K/S

I read a multi-chapter XI fic a while ago where the Enterprise crew stops/boards a smuggler/pirate ship and they come across a holding bay full of sehlats, which have been (as they are a totally endangered species now) illegally procured somewhere and are headed for the black market. Needless to say, the Enterprise crew puts a stop to that and the sehlats end up on the Enterprise instead, bound for New Vulcan. The trip takes some months and Spock bonds with the sehlats.

Possibly Kirk, too.

It might also be a K/S fic, though I am not certain about that.
They might also end up keeping one of the sehlats, but I am equally uncertain about that.
