LFS; also upcoming fests and K/S Zine Library

Hi all,
1) I'm looking for a specific fic. It may be K/S. Kirk and the crew and other officials were at some important diplomatic function. I think everyone expected Kirk to either screw up or contribute nothing.... But it turned out that he charmed people... And he met the grandmother or something of Gaila and talked about her and the grandmother was a leader and respected what he told her.
I think they made an alliance because of Kirk. Not sure if this was part of a larger story.
2) are there any upcoming fests? Particularly slash but can be gen. I love epics and long fics and am looking forward to reading some new ones or epics from this year.
3) there was a K/S Zine library where you would send the money for mailing and you would be able to borrow a few zines for a couple weeks. Is this still around? Who's in charge? Are we adding to it or is it stopping?
