There is a fic I am looking for that I remember reading. The Enterprise meets new Aliens who value youth, and intelligence, and though they joke about keeping an eye on Chekov, and are a little nervous. They go down to the meeting. Kirk, and Chekov both get kidnapped. They are fed very little and Kirk shares his portion despite Chekov's protests. The Aliens end up having some kind of telepathy and are trying to break into Kirk's mind. He writes math equations on the wall frantically to guard his mind. Chekov didn't realize that Kirk was driven by the math that way whereas for Chekov it is a pleasure.
Sulu/Chekov may be pre-slash, I am not sure. But both Sulu, and Spock are murderous when they discover the Kirk, and Chekov's conditions. There is a scene that is driving me crazy. Kirk is the first one to realize that something is wrong. The crew is amazed by his perceptions, and watch him for danger clues. So Kirk grabs Chekov just before they attack, and doesn't let go. That is how Chekov realizes something is wrong, and how both of them are taken. Kirk refuses to give up his grip on his young navigator. Chekov later finds out that Kirk was giving him food because he had experience with starvation.
I would deeply appreciate anyone that could point me in the right direction. I have been scouring my reading list but I am stumped. Thank you for any help you can give. -sb
