Ice spiders

Okay this is going to be incerdibly vague, but does anyone remember having read a fic where Spock researches (or wants to research) some creatures called 'Ice Spiders'? Because I thought I read one, but it wasn't in the story I thought it was and now I'm beginning to think I imagined the creates in the first place.
So does it ring a bell with anyone? Or should I just chalk it up to my overactive imagination?
If it's exists it's a TOS story Iøm looking for, I hardly ever read AOS.
