Blind Jim Fic I'm trying to find

Hiya, I'm in a bind here. I'm looking for a specific fanfiction where Jim Kirk was born blind and is recruited for a program where if they're able to give him his sight, then he can join Starfleet. It's a Jim/Spock piece and I've tried really hard to find it again. I feel that it is still out there, but it just hasn't been found on my own.

I remember a few scenes better than others. Like, when Jim kind of met Spock for the first time, he thinks of him smelling really good even though he's a few feet away and he either thought of him smelling like cocoa or fresh and nature-like.

I think another scene is where he's in Spock's class and Spock calls him out on something and he tells him something along the lines of, "That's swell and all, but I guess that's maybe because I'm blind." He might have pulled down his sunglasses, I can't truly remember that part of the scene.

Another scene is where he meets Spock's parents for the first time by answering Spock's door, home alone in the Vulcan's apartment, and his mother gasps saying , "My god, you're blind." Or something of that affect.

I remember that Jim is asked to talk to former Starfleet officer that was blinded since Jim was blind from birth, hoping to encourage the officer to join the same program as Jim, to rejoin Starfleet duty.

I hope this is enough information.

If I could just get a name to the fic and who it's by or a link to it, that'd be great if can find it.

Help finding lost story

I'm looking for a post Narada story. The first two chapters are overviews of Kirk and Spocks lives up through the first movie. It then goes on about their two week trip back to Eart and interviews where every one gathers in Uhura's room to watch other testimony.  Later the crew is sent to negotial to have the Klingonsjoin the Federation. I got thay far when my computer crash ans I did not have it book mark. I think it was on Ao and a WIP.
