Crash landing on a planet/academy AU

Looking for a fic, most likely AO3, where Kirk is a student at the academy on a training mission and Spock is the faculty leading the team. They either land and the location is wrong/dangerous or they crash land, either way they're stuck on the planet. The academy trainees keep dying off, there's like acid rain degrading the ship, some people eat poisonous food and die, Kirk sort of steps up as a survivalist, one of the characters is a cat-alien, and anyone who dies on the planet comes back to life as a feral zombie. It ends up being just Kirk and Spock surviving, they hole up in a cave, etc. Any ideas? I though maybe The Lotus Eaters but that wasn't it.
