Spock/McCoy - bond reveals McCoy is a telepath?

A long while ago I read some classic trek fic (could've been a series too) where Spock/McCoy bonded and it turned out that McCoy was a telepath as well, but he kept it surpressed without knowing it. If I remember correctly, Spock only noticed it because McCoy was able to shield himself from his lover, which would've been almost impossible for a mere human.

Anyone remember that?

I dont know the story, but it sounds really interesting. I hope someone knows it - do you remember if you read it on a 'private' author site or an archive?

I think the bond was originally initiated during pon farr and Spock only later realized that McCoy was able to shield himself partly.

if it's the one I'm thinking of then Spock is helping McCoy heal from what happened in the MU or, possibly, with what happened in the Empath. And, somehow I think if it's Empath based, then it's one of Lyra's fics. If my memory serves me correctly.
