Trying to find an AU

Ok so, I have looked and looked for this but I can't find it for some reason. So what I remember of it is this; Nero was defeated but he still blew up earth, leaving both humans and vulcans endangered. To survive, the volcans decide that the two races must become one. Spock chooses kirk over Uhura and insanity ensues... I do remember that Uhura attacked Kirk sometime in the story. I'm pretty sure that it was a mult-chapter fic.
