startrekficfinderOk, looking for a fic that follows the events after the Khan attack. They bring Kirk back to life but things don't go as smoothly as in the movie.
Spock and McCoy get in trouble for breaking protocol and doing unapproved medical procedures. Kirk awakes to find his crew in trouble. I believe there was a larger menacing plot at work as well. The fic follows the forming work/personal friendship of these 3 men.
The over all tone was fairly serious and dark.
It is GEN (98% sure of this)
It was on AO3 and of considerable length and complete.
