Spock takes hits for the Captain

So I just rewatched "The Apple" and got all giddy when Spock pushed Kirk out of the way and jumped in front of the poisonous flower-dart-things (oh, TOS, how I love thee) to take the hit himself rather than having them hit Kirk. When Spock awoke Kirk was all pissy-with-worry at him but quietly mumbled his thanks after the reprimand. eeeee <3.

So, I'm looking for any and all fic (or if there's a ST novel you know of that contains a situation like this, feel free to let me know! I've only read a few so far) in which Spock takes a hit/punishment/etc in place of Kirk, either directly in front of Kirk or in a kind of behind-his-back-doesn't-realize-til-it's-too-late way a la Wrath of Khan and Kirk gets all upset/worried/mad.

Prefer no character death (unless it's a redshirt of course, that's ok :)) and no pure-angst fics though. TOS or Reboot, I'm not picky :)!
