Dang it, I think I know this fic. IIRC it was a Vulcan AU where all adult Vulcan males saw each other as rivals. So as soon as Spock hit puberty, Sarek started having sex with him to assert his dominance. Later he found out that he needn't have done that bc Spock didn't see him as a rival at all. Sarek was pretty shocked/heartbroken bc of what he'd done to Spock.
I could have sworn that the fic's on AO3 but I can't find it. I'll keep looking.
