Because some people (well call them jealous haters) kept reporting the story and author for abuse, and ao3, rather than investigate it just said deleted the story because "obviously it must true since more than one person is reporting."
I'm not sure she writes anymore though. That author received a lot of negative attention the moment she started posting it seems. I think she's left the fandom or stopped writing altogether, but I know from a friend that if you email her, she'll send you a copy of the original story (the one before the rewrite) if that's something you're interested in. ive got that email written down somewhere if you're interested.
