Hi, I'm looking for a reboot AU where Jim doesn't take up Pike's challenge to join Starfleet, but he ends up in San Francisco anyway. Working as a bartender he makes friends with Bones and meets Spock-- who is impressed by his math skills. Spock actually gives PADDs with hard questions on them, that Jim does for fun and for the challenge but actually turns out to be something like placement tests that wave Jim out of a number of classes and he eventually badgers Jim into joining Starfleet...

So, yeah. In short, looking for math-nerd!Jim AU. I think it's eventually Jim/Spock, but it might be gen.
