oh, jeez, this is so ridiculous but this is what I have. I read about the first paragraph of a story a couple of weeks ago (between Memorial Day weekend and the beginning of June, I think?)and made a mental note to go back to it, THOUGHT I bookmarked it in delicious, but nope - it's just gone.

It's post-movie (reboot). It starts, I believe, with Kirk regaining consciousness in the infirmary, he has a little mind-meld flashback to TOS Kirk and Spock, and pulls 2009-Spock in for a kiss. Then he remembers who he is, etc. I don't think it was slash, despite this beginning; I seem to remember the blah blah at the top being something like "Spock/Uhura, Kirk" and I'm pretty sure it was a genfic. Any thoughts? It's going to be one of those "I know it when I see it" stories, but I'm hoping with this shiny new fandom, someone will recognize it.

Smart!Kirk?

Kirk is supposed to be this really smart guy right? With a high IQ? Had a apititude test results off the charts? I'm just wondering how many fics out there have him as it (whether hidden or not) in the new Star Trek movie. I don't know exactly what i'm looking for in a characterization for smart!Kirk so naything you guys think I might like you can rec. In regards to pairings: i'm up for anything, but I tend to lean more toward Kirk/Spock and Kirk/McCoy. Thanks!
