In the XI kink meme, as part of a prompt, someone described a TOS story that they had read and liked. But they didn't link it!

 

I'mquoting the description here:

" So, there's this TOS fic where McCoy deliberately gets in the way of a hypospray that changes his genetics and renders him half-Vulcan."

This sounds like a really cool fic! Can anyone help me find it?

Hiya! Back again, with more requests (hopefully soon I'll have read enough to be able to help with recs!).

I'm looking for:

1) your favorite novel-length fics (or pro novels you can recommend!) that are plot-oriented, much like a Star Trek episode or film with a particular planet/adventure/conflict/etc, but still have a strong focus on Kirk and Spock (slash or gen) - warn if there's het or other pairings, please!

2) any fic in which Spock is disabled in someway, since birth or by accident, temporarily or permanantly: blind, deaf, mental illness, physical injury...anything. Preferably slash, but gen will do too.
