Kirk as God?

Someone just asked for Kirk as a Vulcan god, which reminded me of  fic where Jim is a /god but still Captain of the Enterprise. His people start a war and he gets so pissed at them that he disappears from the bridge and loses his cover. Does this ring a bell? Thanks,

I'm looking for a story I read several months ago. The details are a bit fuzzy, but here is what I remember about it. Kirk is on (shore leave?) on Earth and attends a meeting (or maybe a banquet?) that Pike is at as well. While he is there security comes to arrest Kirk for treason. Kirk escapes and meets up with his brother Sam, who has been infiltrating a criminal organization for the last several years. Kirk insists on going along with his brother to get the final evidence he needs to bring down the organization. Kirk is hurt by the criminals while getting the information. His brother escapes but has to leave Kirk behind (I think). In the end Kirk is rescued and the brothers are cleared of treason.

I've been looking for this for weeks. Any help finding it would be greatly appreciated.
