I've been looking for a fic for months now. I found it somewhere on livejournal, and I believe it was later posted to the K/S archive, but I haven't been able to find it despite combing though both sites, so here I am.

The fic is a great mindfuck where readers find out that Spock Prime is actually Mirror Spock. The mind-meld gave Jim feelings, and he even leaves the Enterprise to go be with Spock Prime on New Vulcan (I think). Spock Prime killed his captain after the events of 'Mirror, Mirror,' and because of his regrets there, he is trying to prove his devotion to AOS Jim not by advancing progress at new Vulcan colony as it seems he's doing, but in sowing the seeds for a new empire.

This is the only fic I've read that suggests something like this. I'm hoping that because it is unique, someone here will know what I'm talking about despite my inadequate description.

Actually, b/c it's such a huge spoiler for the fic, you might put the description of it under an LJ cut with a *fic spoiler* warning? Because I hear that half the fun of this fic is the surprise twist. :)
