Scared/Doubtful!Kirk?

I've been watching Taylor Swift's "Mine" video too many times. 

Are there any good ones out there where Jim doesn't believe any relationships ever go right, because of his mom and Frank?  Or maybe even TOS with his mom and dad.  Does that make sense?  Like.... his mom and dad/Frank/whoever always fought and were miserable, so he "knows" nothing lasts forever.  And that's why he's always screwin' around and stuff.  I would love for it to end k/s, but I'm willing to try another pairing if you've got the perfect story for me.  The more angst, the better, but not the sobby, "My life sucks" kind, please.

There is a chapter in "Secret Vulcan Mating Rituals" Where Spock is privy to kirk's super secret pain via a highly disturbing and representational dream, and he serves to soothe kirk a bit. Super angsty, full of Kirk self-flagellation b/c he doesn't think he deserves better, but on the whole it's probably a more spock-centric fic. :-/ don't know if that helps?
