More Captaincy = Angst FOUND

 The previous post reminded me of a story which I now can't find.  In it, Kirk makes an unpopular decision and does so intentionally in a way that will allow the crew to hate him.  When Admiral Pike asks how his crew managed to recover so quickly from the mission, Kirk explains that it was because they had a focus for their anger - him.  

Any help will be appreciated.
