[identity profile] chesteriari.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] startrekficfinder

Hey,

I was wondering if their where any links to some Downloadable fics that I could read offline on my computer.

I have "Observations" <~awesome! Still reading that behemoth 1102pgs worth of fic.

Reboot pairings Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Bones... Actually I'm open to any pairing except the main pairing of Spock/Uhura.

Thanks!

~Chesteriari

AO3's (http://archiveofourown.org/tags/James%20T%252E%20Kirk%252FSpock/works) latest update now includes the ability to download stories in html, pdf, mobi, and epub format :o)

Two of my favorites:

The oft-recced So Wise We Grow (http://captanddeastar.livejournal.com/9048.html) by captanddeastar. Kirk/Spock.

Whatever a Moon has Always Meant (http://hollycomb.livejournal.com/189522.html) by hollycomb (who does no wrong) - this is Sulu/Chekov, Kirk/Sulu, and Kirk/Sulu/Chekov. Hollycomb is a wonderful writer who makes me read outside my favored pairings, so give her a shot. She has other epics up in PDF form as well, but this is just one of my favorites, and, in my opinion, one of the best stories in fandom.

Oh - and, to echo bbuttercup above, the K/S archive (ksarchive.com/) makes it so you can save any story in PDF form. Some of my favorite epics there are Take Refuge in What You Know by corpus-invictus, Fighting Gravity by pantswarrior, Silver Lining (which has a sequel CHildren of Destiny) and Coming Home by Amanda Warrington, and Storm Tossed by Elise Madrid.

If you go into the story, on the left hand corner under "Title" by "Name" there is a little printer icon, often accompanied by "chapter" or "story." Click on story and it will take you to a page with the full text of the story. it will also prompt you to print the story, but here you should just hit cancel. Then, when you are on the page with the full text, go to file, and hit print, and on that screen you should be able to save to a PDF instead of printing.

Thanks for this info. I was unable to save it to PDF but it saved as one html file, which is good enough for me!

All I have for Star Trek is You'll Get There in the End (It Just Takes a While) (http://seperis.livejournal.com/741871.html) and its sequel, War Games (http://seperis.livejournal.com/796798.html). Both are available as PDFs.

War Games and Observations remain two of my favourite fics of all time.

There is Ebook Library (http://amalthia.mediawood.net/ebooks/index.php). Its a fanfiction ebook archive with over 800 ebooks currently. Their Star Trek Section (http://amalthia.mediawood.net/ebooks/browse.php?type=categories&catid=106) isn't nearly as big as some of their other fandom sections, but there is a fair amount of really good fanfics by some very popular authors. I am sure you'll find some worthy of reading, that's where i went to stock up on ebooks for when my internet is down.

You can also use the Fanfiction Downloader (http://www.home-eisele.de/downloader_e.php) program to get a single file (HTML, PDF, etc... - the newest version of the program has 13 formats available) from some big archives, including Fanfiction.net. Very practical for reading offline or just for not having to go through 100+ chapter pages on very long fics.
Supported Pages:
- fanfiction.net
- fanfiktion.de
- checkmated.com
- portkey.org
- adultfanfiction.net
- Animexx.de (test)
- Fictionalley.org (schnoogle, astronomy....)
- Fictionpress.com
- FanFicAuthors.net
