Hey guys,

I was hoping to get a little help finding a fic that I have misplaced and have been dying to re-read. I'm a little fuzzy on the fic's main plot but I think it was academy-era.

I do, however, distinctly remember near the end a section on Bones being made for love -- a paraphrase of what Jim narrates. There's a metaphor about Bones' innate goodness emerging from his pain (tarnished gold or something similarly shiny).

Thanks for help -- I know it's not a lot to go on. I really appreciate it :D!!

A Field Theory of James T. Kirk (http://caitri.livejournal.com/296955.html#cutid1) maybe?

It's a 5+1, and the excerpt that fits your description is at the beginning of the plus one:

Leonard McCoy is a man who was meant for love—in every sense.(...)Bones has an inner light like you wouldn’t even believe, and it comes from that heart of his, that heart that can feel the pain of others and wants to heal them, inside and out.

*g* You're welcome. And in luck. I re-read that story just the other day, otherwise I might not have found it XD
