Distance to Tarsus IV

Hi all,

I have a question about canon/the Star Trek universe. If this post is not allowed here, please do tell me and I'll delete it immediately. It's just that I haven't been able to find the information myself and haven't come across a community that might be more appropriate. If you know a community that deals with canon questions, could you please let me know?

Now to the question: For a fic I'm trying to write I need to know how far the Tarsus system (and the planet Tarsus IV) is from Earth and how fast a ship at normal speed would get there? Any guesses? I checked the stellar maps on the net, but didn't find it.

I really do hope you can help me. :) Many thanks in advance!

trekcanonfodder is a community for canon questions. It's not that active, but it does have members and questions get answered.

I have no idea about the distances but here is a compilation of planets with coordinates, and Tarsus is listed so maybe that'll help?

Thank you for taking the time to hunt down these links! The canon community went straight to my bookmarks ;)

The coordinates are interesting. I'm not really science savvy though, so I don't really know what to do with them. I couldn't find the map key you mentioned regarding the second link. There was a nifty warp-distance-time calculator, though. I'm just not sure about the results. I tested it with Vulcan and it says approx. 58 days at warp 4. Seems kinda long to me...

It has never been established the ficticious distance to Tarsus IV. Memory Alpha has the best description on it.

Well I always use the awesome map below:



It is really hard to make out and not the best resolution, but I think that I see Tarsus over by the Romulan Star Empire and the Neutral Zone. About 3 times the relative distance to Vulcan.

Please note that this map is in 2D and will not have the whole 3D picture so that there is that relative margin error too.

I think I know which one you (might) mean, but I don't think that's the one. On this map (http://ucip.org/sims/science/newmaps/ufp01.jpg) it reads more like Tango Outpost to me (if we're talking about the same). On the other hand, Tarsus IV is listed in the list of member planets on that map, so it has to be somewhere....

I am not talking about the Tango outpost, In the bottom right hand corner of the map it looks like "Tausus (gamma)" which is not on the list on the UFP list so I thought that might be it.

Thank you for that map, it is slightly better resolution than my old one. ^_^
