ST-XI Fic:Capt. Winona Kirk?

Hey there!  I'm looking for a longish fic where the Enterprise crew is caught up in some frelling bad mission where Jim or Spock(and others) are captured, the Enterprise is damaged and They are in need of help. They might have sent out a message to the nearest Starbase and or StarFleet vessels and are waiting for a response whilst trying to figure out a rescue for their captured shipmates.  The bridge crew gets an incoming message from an unexpected source, Captain Winona Kirk. Jim is very much his mothers' son.

The fact that Jim's mother was a starship captain wasn't the main point of this story but it gets to be pretty important later on, I think.

Came across this story at work a while ago, didn't bookmark it or at least print out the first page with the headers, 'cause of course I'll remember it......famous last words...  The pairing is Kirk/spock I think or no pairing, just gen.  Sorry I can't think of anything else.  Any ideas????  Thanks in advance for checking!!!
