Looking for a K/M (?) Academy Era Fic

All I can remember of the story is as follows:

1. I think it, at least, ends up being a Kirk/McCoy story;
2. They are at the academy;
3. Kirk is blind. He either went blind naturally or there was an accident, but he comes into the academy blind;
4. Still on the command track (?);
5. I recall that Kirk ends up taking charge on a space station, I believe.

If anyone has any idea where to find this, I'd be ecstatic.
