Blind!Kirk?

Hey everyone!

I have this scenario stuck in my head and was wondering if anyone has written a fanfic for it.  Everyone knows that TOS Kirk has gold eyes and Reboot Kirk has blue eyes.  What I keep thinking is:

What if Reboot Kirk's eyes are blue because he was blinded by the chaotic circumstances of his birth?

Any fics like that at all?  In fact, are there any blind!Kirk (TOS or reboot) fics around?  I prefer K/S, but I'm willing to try anything.

The only blind!Kirk story that comes to my mind is the epic TOS novel Nightvisions; Jim is blinded after an attack by Tholians and suffers dangerous seizures to boot, and both Spock and Bones take time off from Starfleet to look after him. It's a wonderful portrait of a blind man's struggles to regain control of his life, and an absolutely beautiful K/S love story. That story only exists in zine form so far, but cataenamara just announced (http://community.livejournal.com/kirkspock/1349675.html?thread=9428267#t9428267) that she's received permission to have it posted online! :) It's impossible to know when it will be ready, but check for it on the KS archive in a few months.

There's a lovely series of one-shots by sororexitium called Only With the Heart (http://sororexitium.livejournal.com/tag/only%20with%20the%20heart). They're all Kirk/McCoy, but the feeling in them is so wonderful, they shouldn't be missed.
