Searching for Kirk wrote a book! [Found!!]

If it was requested here, I'm sorry but I'm hoping to find this one fic again. If I remember correctly Pike told Kirk to write a book and I believe it might a have been academic-related or maybe Tarsus. I just remember the Enterprise getting a hold of it and just being pure fans of it, even Spock!

I'm a bit iffy if it was in fact a Kirk/Spock pairing but I won't be disappointed if it wasn't. Please, help! I think it was written at least a year or so ago. orz

Graduate Vulcan for Fun and Profit by lazulisong somewhat fits the search, in that Kirk has written a paper/thesis, though that's only one small part of an awesome story.
