Searching for Kirk/Spock (Star Trek XI)

I am interesting in finding the 'must read' Kirk/Spock stories out there.

I prefer the XI universe, but am more than happy to read TOS guys, as well.

Must read? Then I'd have to start with Keira Marcos' Tangled Destinies. It's an on going series with seven stories currently and another due to be posted with in the next month or so. They range in length from about 5k to 22k. It's AU with the story being set when K/S are in High school.

Most are sprawling epics with a slow build in relationship or friendship > relationship. Most are K/S except two, methinks.

I'm glad it was able to help you out. I haven't updated in a bit but I do post recs as I read them too in normal updates opposed to the sticky post I linked. It just takes a bit before I decide whether or not I want them in my top list.

I think You'll Get There in the End (It Just Takes a While) (http://seperis.livejournal.com/741871.html) by Seperis, and its sequel, War Games (http://seperis.livejournal.com/796798.html) are the best Kirk/Spock fics out there. They're massive and brilliantly plotty, and Seperis is a master of characterization. A must-read (if you haven't read them already!)

I just finished Waldorph's Strive Seek Find Yield (Spocktoria) (http://waldorph.dreamwidth.org/283601.html) which was fantastic. I was initially skeptical about the premise (an AU wherein "Spock is heir to the Federation throne, Jim is Prince of America because his fucking brother abdicated, and the Klingons are on the verge of blowing shit up") but then I read it, and it had me grinning from ear-to-ear throughout.

I was similarly skeptical about the plot of So Wise We Grow (http://captanddeastar.livejournal.com/9048.html) (Spock and Jim adopt a Vulcan kid), which just goes to show I'm an idiot, because it's fantastic.

My other ST XI top favorites are here (http://terinbegins.livejournal.com/904.html). I pretty much only list fics that I'm absolutely in love with, so I'm sure a number of great stories are missing, but I'd like to think the recs I do make are relatively reliable...

I've read You'll Get There in the End and the sequel. They were simply amazing. I will definitely go check out the rest. And I adore rec lists. Thank you!
