Empathy/Mindreading Fic

I'm looking for a fic- fairly certain it was Kirk/McCoy.

One of them- I think it was Bones, turned into or looked like or saw whoever the person he was with loved most. I'm not sure if he turned into them of if he saw someone else as them or what.

Basically, he could see who a person loved most.

And Kirk saw Bones as himself.

I'm not sure though as Kirk is the on who changes appearance.
