I've been trolling my links all night looking for this Kirk/Bones fic where Bones punches Pike in the face for giving Kirk the Enterprise "before he'd given him something to live for" and Jim overhears this because he's stalking McCoy's comm and he says that he doesn't want anyone else to touch him ever again and that he loves Bones.

It is Spock Prime whom he punches, for arguing in Kirk's favour. Now, if only I could remember the series... I'll have to look it up on my laptop later! I'll get back to you if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
