I'm searching for a story where Jim and Bones are on a planet. They can't get transported back to the Enterprise...but I have no idea why.
Jim has some serious problems with his appendix so it has to come out. And Bones doesn't has his usual instruments so he has to do ist the old way...with a scalpel. Ring any bells?

I believe it is Field Medicine (http://st-xi-kink.livejournal.com/7030.html?thread=25763446#t25763446) on the

st_xi_kink. I think in this one he has to use Jim's boot knife for the surgery.
