I remember almost nothing about this story except that it talks about how Pike, as Jim Kirk's advisor, introduces him to his own academy advisor and Jim ends up having dinner regularly with Admirals Archer, Tucker, and T'Pol (who are married). Also, it's likely a Kirk/McCoy fic, or at least a friendship fic, but no guarantees.
