Hey again,

Sorry I'm trying to find a story that I could have sworn had been asked on st ficfinder but I've gone through all the pages twice...

Anyway it's I think Bones, Jim, Spock and Nyota were all hanging out, Nyota and Jim aren't friends or close. But anyway Jim asks Spock about a bad memory, and Nyota demands that Jim share a secert since he forced one out of Spock. And Jim thinks about it for a moment, planning on giving a light hearted one, but changes his mind not wanting to weaken Spock's secert and tells how he drove his dad's car over the cliff and jumped out, making everyone realize Jim admitted to trying to kill himself.

And I'm looking for a longish story, preferably Spock/Jim, even if it's just 'epic' friendship, where hey like the orignal universe, Jim is intelligent. I've read Atlas and Vuclan's are fan girls [and that other one where Kirk has the vulcan teacher who leaves things to him.] and ties that bind] so any others. Thanks

I *know* that story, but I can't for the life of me think of it at the moment.  Knowing my mind, it'll likely come to me when I stop trying to remember it.

As for longish Spock/Jim stories with a smart Jim, I'd recommend:
"How Wise We Grow (http://captanddeastar.livejournal.com/9048.html)" by deastar
"Tangled Destinies (http://keiramarcos.com/star-trek/tangled-destinies-ks/)" by Keira Marcos

Argh!!!! I've read that fanfic too, but I don't remember it. Everything you and the person above has listed is amazing, but have you read Sestina by Lyricoloratura? (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5753075/27/) It's a WIP, but there's 27 chapters so far, and a fic that covers events before/during this one from the Chekov/Sulu front, so in total it's quite long. Lyricoloratura's K/S stuff is amazing, you should definitely check out her other stuff on FFN.

Also, I'd recommend The Flavor of Laughter by brytewolf. (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5841100/1/The_Flavor_of_Laughter)It's another WIP, but has amazingly slow build up to the K/S-ness that we haven't fully gotten to in 24 chapters.

Observations (http://anon-j-anon.livejournal.com/30674.html) is amazingly long (262 chapters, seriously). It's complete, incredibly poingant, all in Spock's POV after the movie thought their lives and adventures. While it is probably THE longest fic in the reboot 'verse, it is worth every minute spent reading it (Three days nonstop, in my case.)

Have you read waldorph's √π233/hy7 series (http://waldorph.livejournal.com/tag/fic%3A%20%E2%88%9A%CF%80233%2Fhy7)? It's a Reboot AU, with a math genius Kirk who didn't go with pike after the bar fight but made his way to sanfran anyway, met bones and spock, was coerced into joining Starfleet by Spock and his sneakyness, and the entire thing, in all of its parts (which focus on k/s, winona/george, pike/number one, etc. in their individual badassery and the coupled bits) spans backwards and forwards in related but not chaptered, per say, sequence. Start either at the begining (earliest) of the posts, with 'a beautiful(ly illogical) mind' (http://waldorph.livejournal.com/151586.html).

Symptoms of fatigue (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5383716/1/Symptoms_of_Fatigue) by JadeMac2442 is another WIP, and is updated slowly but has not been abandoned (to my knowledge). It's immediately post-movie during the trek home, and it deals with Kirk's healing a great deal, as well as his relationship with those around him, and hasn't gotten past establishing friendship between Kirk&Spock. However, I really love it so far, despite it's unfinished state.

There are the only ones' I've bookmarked that haven't been listed above, but there are plenty out there. Enjoy!

How High the Moon is wonderful Hurt!Jim, doesn't really touch on intelligence... but i always think he is XD it never says he's dumb or anything lol.
