Academy AU

I'm looking for a story I read a few years ago but never finished and I'm not even sure if the author ever completed it either.  It involved Kirk living in an apartment during his Academy days and meeting his next door neighbor, Spock, who was a reclusive hermit suffering from severe agoraphobia I believe, and wouldn't leave his place and takes all his classes online or something.  Eventually Kirk and Spock become best friends and more and Kirk finds out that Spock's condition had something to do with a previous lover who used to live with the Vulcan but broke his heart or something like that.

Ideas?
