Jim in coma story

Hi!

I'm looking for a story where Jim is shot by some alien device and falls into a coma. Starfleet issues a new captain (who blatantly disrespects Bones, calling him co-dependent and useless behind his back). The new captain wants Jim removed from the ship, and Bones reveals that he is Jim's next of kin, and therefore in control of Jim's future. Jim is moved into Bones' quarters. He can still hear everything that goes on, and it's six months before he wakes up again.

Oh, and when he wakes again, everyone is off ship on Earth, and Jim thinks he's been abandoned. He also punches the new captain for disrespecting Bones.
