A reboot K/S fic, with a Kodos appearance

I remember this being a long K/S fic, and I think it might be an accidental bonding fic, or a fic where the bonding comes before their relationship, because I recall a good bit of arguing between them, despite the mental link. However, later in the story, after an argument with Spock,(I think after a bad encounter with some of his human-side relatives, but I'm not sure)Kirk storms off on his own and gets captured by a young Lenore Karidian, who's been killing people quietly the whole story. Kirk wakes up trussed up and when she starts to talk about her father he realizes who he is talking to and the mental freakout he has over it is so hardcore Spock nearly faceplants a hundred miles away. The moment was epic and terrifying, and that was even before papa Karidian walks into the room. Spock has to try and keep Kirk calm while he rides to the rescue. Anybody remember this fic or did I imagine it?

It sounds like the story "Strength of Men" by 1lostone. But I could be wrong.
