Guys, can you rec me your favorite "cry your hearts out" fics, with Kirk as main chara? Spock/Kirk preferred, but I'm not picky - just make me sad, and cry for a week. All the sadness and heartbreak, and all those things.

Atlas (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5344838/1/Atlas) is pretty angsty and hurt/comforty with Kirk throughout, but the second book -- chapters 9 through 13 -- The Birth of Atlas had some truly heartbreaking scenes.

And no Star Trek fic has made me cry more than The Icicle Melts (http://st-xi-kink-meme.livejournal.com/11004.html?thread=10241788#t10241788) (scroll down for the second fill). Gen; Amanda is one of the volunteer aid workers who finds Jim on Tarsus IV. I CRIED FOR HOURS.
