Specific Reboot Fic + Recs

So I'm looking for one specific fic set in academy days in the reboot universe (or at least part of it takes place there). I honestly don't remember much, but the one scene that does stick out is that Jim has to take part of a simulation for some reason (an admiral or teacher who hated him ran it I think?) and Bones was watching on. During the simulation Jim noticed things that the other didn't and managed to beat it/pass even when he wasn't the main focus (he had a tri-corder and was supposed to be a medic I think?) but he was kept in and from what I remember something happens and he ends up hurt or having a reaction and Bones has to pull him out and is yelling at the teacher/admiral while he tries to save Jim. I think it was Gen, but it could have been Jim/Bones easily as well.

That's all I remember.

Also, recs! I was wondering if there are any fics out there where Jim resigns command temporarily because he's emotionally compromised instead of continuing on. Something like the kink meme fill Goverened by anonymous? Or just fics where he has to temporarily give up command for any reason :)
