Ok, so: st:xi fix where Kirk is pulled out of the benefits into the shiny new parallel universe. It was kirk prime/spock prime, and the only part I can remember clearly is the beginning. The nexus loves to keep lose trapped there by recreating people's favorite things, so it keeps having to recreate spock, and then wipe kirk' s memories and start again when he figures out nexus!spock isn't his spock. A particularly strong tug on the bond get a kirk to wake up for real. Nexus doesn't like that, and makes a huge terrifying storm, but kirk gets out anyway. Plot that I can't remember happens and they're reunited. (Or the reuniting comes before the plot, risk which) nu!kirk might have been tied up with some aliens when tos!kirk gets there--oh, wait! the bond is reactivated by spock going into ponfarr and Jim has to get there in time to convince him not to just let himself die!
I actually might be thinking of two different stories with the same idea, so please help.
