LF gen(ish) Kirk and McCoy academy recs

I'm in the mood for Jim and Bones and their own epic friendship in AOS, starting with the shuttle ride and continuing through their Academy years. Anything taking place within that time frame would be wonderful. Things I really like:

- plot
- adventure
- getting to know and like each other
- friends at first sight
- h/c

Definitely Mijan's Academy Series. It's gen (about as BFF as can be without crossing that line), lots of plot, h/c, incredible writing. Long reads. Enjoy.

Mijan's is definitely the best and it would definitely set the bar high with regards to other Academy fics but, this one is all right: Perfect Strangers (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6958190/1/Perfect-Strangers)

why am i always late replying to things?

anyway, I read alot of Academy fic's and while I love Mijan's series, my all time favorite is
We Two Alone (http://archiveofourown.org/works/462930/chapters/798459) by shoreleave (http://archiveofourown.org/users/shoreleave/pseuds/shoreleave)

epic to extreme, lot of plot, fantastic friendship build up, angst, genious kirk, undertones of tarsis
this is a definate must read, its very long (and full on, doesn't draaag things out)
oddly enough while its a Acad fic it's not centered around the academy itself
