All you kind people, I've lost a fic. I've looked everywhere, no luck. It's Kirk/McCoy, and It has Kirk coming on to Bones while at the Academy. Bones turns him down, but Kirk is persistent. It's later, with them both on the Enterprise, that something happens (what?) that makes Kirk think that Bones will never want him. Bones sees Kirk give up and goes to him.
Possibly McCoy was really nasty while turning Jim down, not sure if I mixed up my fics here (the problem with gorging yourself on a new fandom).
