Looking for Star Trek TNG fics

About ten years ago when I was first reading ST fics I remember there were fic sites that had TNG material on them. I remember because I carefully navigated around everything that wasn't Kirk/Spock.. Well, now I've actually watched TNG and want to read slash fics...but I can't find a whole lot! There are some on FF.net and A3O but surely there must be more out there? Like an old fic archive or a dedicated Lj? Help!

Try Trekiverse (http://www.trekiverse.org/archive.html). It's where all the old-school Trek fic seems to be hidden.

Back in the '90s, the center of Star Trek fandom on the web (for all versions of Star Trek) was on Usenet; the fic was centered around alt.startrek.creative (ASC) and alt.startrek.creative.erotica.moderated (ASCEM). (This is useful to know because if you poke around at fics from the 90s and into the early 2000s you'll see a lot of references to the two, and I was never on Usenet even when it was a big thing, and so this confused me for years because I had no idea what the two acronyms meant.) Anyway, Trekiverse was the archive of fic for that community, so most fic of the 90s is there. This was in the days when there wasn't any standard archive software that you could use, so they wrote their own. The software was incredibly clunky and difficult to use, and by the time better things were available they were kind of winding down. Anyway, the person who's been maintaining the archive all these years has finally found the time to switch over to modern standard archiving software, but it's a huge job because each story needs to be properly converted and you can read all about it at http://trekiverse.wordpress.com/

Anyway, short version: they're still in the middle of converting, so keep checking back because not everything has been uploaded yet.

Thanks for the background, most interesting! I actually thought the whole website was from around 1997... so I hope the ease of use and look will improve. That is so awesome that it's being done though, I would hate for a large piece of creative writing/fandom history to be lost. Especially when it's such a 'defining' fandom as ST!

You'll find lots of slash there, but remember that it's not going to be like K/S. I mean, K/S is the pairing that ate fandom--it's the majority of Classic Trek fic. None of the other shows have slash pairings like that that are dominant. I mean, there are common OTPs (for TNG, there's Picard/Q and Data/Geordie, for example) but you'll find a lot more diversity in the slashing.

Yup, K/S is probably the first 'modern' slash pairing, and THE OTP for ST:TOS. And having watched TOS I can see why, it is basically canon! And the fics are everywhere, with new ones trickling in from the new movies.

So yeah, I'm all for diversity when it comes to TNG! The more the merrier. Like Wil Wheaton said at the Calgary convention after the entire cast had kissed each other "keep writing fanfics, it can come true!"

I'd recommend checking out Ad Astra (http://www.adastrafanfic.com) as well. There's a fair bit of material there, especially for the TV series.
